Discover Nursing at Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital

Nursing plays a vital role in the transformation of healthcare. We consider frontline nursing as the ultimate in the health care circle of care. We encourage nurses to hone their observational skills, advance knowledge, interventions and promote compassionate care that can assist patients in managing their healthcare needs.

There are many facets of nursing care including but not limited to the following:

Surgical Services

Are you looking for a perioperative nursing position? Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital has full service Surgical Suites.

As a perioperative nurse, you will provide surgical patient care by assessing, planning, and implementing the nursing care patients receive before, during and after surgery. These activities include patient assessment, creating and maintaining a sterile and safe surgical environment, pre- and post-operative patient education, monitoring the patient’s physical and emotional well-being, and integrating and coordinating patient care throughout the surgical care continuum.

Come join our team of surgical nurses!

Medical Surgical Services

On the Medical-Surgical Unit the job is challenging and rewarding.  We take care of pediatric to geriatric patient populations.  Patient diagnoses run the spectrum from the common cold to post-surgical care. A collaborative, team approach to patient care is utilized. The nurses work with the physicians and other disciplines (Respiratory Therapist, Physical Therapist, Social Services, etc.) within the hospital to coordinate and manage patient care and provide quality, evidence based care to the patients.

The quality care providers include Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Nursing Assistants, Orderlies and Unit Clerks. All team members work together to provide safe, quality care to the patients.  In an effort to promote a smooth transition to care outside of the hospital, patient self-care is a part of the patient’s overall plan of care. Patient and family education is provided as a part of the patient’s transition to their self-care environment.

Nursing is the front line of the health care team and it provides endless personal and professional rewards. Being a member of the Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital Nursing Team will allow you to fulfill your professional goals in relation to your place in the health care continuum of care
